The long-time proposed online debate competition hosted by NUESA PRESS FUOYE In Conjunction with ESAN FUOYE was held on the 30th December, 2021 via WhatsApp.
The NUESA PRESS FUOYE President started by welcoming all members present for the competition.
He also introduced some special personalities present for the debate.
Those personalities includes:
1. Comrade Adejugbe Adeyemi Clement pka ASIWAJU [NUESA PRESIDENT]
2. Comrade Iyi Daniel [FUOYESU 3rd Seat]
3. Comrade Omoniyi Silas [Mechanical Engineering Department - 200L]
4. Comrade Seyi Babs [Mechanical Engineering - 400L]
5. Sunday Awosoro. [English Language and Education - 300L]
6. Precious Ewuji [English Language and Education - 200L]
7. SRC CHIEF WHIP
8. A Senator from ESAN - FUOYE
Comrade Omoniyi Silas welcomed everyone present for the Online Debate Competition between; ESAN, Faculty of Education & NUESA, Faculty of Engineering on the topic which says: "Social Media Has Improved Human Communication"
He also introduced the panel of judges which includes:
1. Omoniyi Silas Oluwaseun
Mechanical Engineering
200 Level
2. Seyi Babs
Mechanical Engineering.
400 Level.
3. Sunday Awosoro
English Language and Education
300 Level.
4. Precious Ewuji
English Language and Education
200 Level
The criteria used for judging the debators:
1. Idea Development
2. Organization
3. Presentation
4. Timing
He also added that Chief speakers have THREE minutes for their first call-up while Second speaker have TWO minutes to address us.
The Topic for the debate is: Social media has improved Human Communication.
NUESA Opposed the motion while ESAN Supported the motion.
He warned that the debators should kindly keep to time and ensure they make the best use of the allotted time.

In addition, there will be extra ONE minute for rebutting by the Chief speakers after both sides have spoken.
The debators were also given TWO minutes only to ask any question before the debate commences but they responded in the negative way.
The Debate was concluded after some few minutes and the results was released by the Panel of Judges.
📍RESULTS:
Cumulative NUESA: 71.25%
Cumulative ESAN: 49.75%
The debators and participants were awarded certificate of participation and recognition.
